Indoor Unit - Cleaning Intervals
Clean the product regularly to maintain optimal performance and to prevent possible breakdown. Refer to Figure 15 for proper filter
placement. Refer to Table 6 for detailed instructions on maintenance. Review all safety instructions at the front of this manual, and adhere to
all warnings and notes on this page before proceeding with maintenance.

Maintenance Precautions
• Turn off power and unplug the cord before performing any maintenance to avoid electric shock.
• Never use water that is hotter than 104 °F (40 °C) when cleaning filters. It may cause deforming (warping) or discoloration.
• Never use volatile substances when cleaning filters. They may damage the surface of the product.
• Do not wash the 3M Micro Protection Filter with water. Filter may be damaged. The location and shape of the filter may vary depending
on the model.
• Be sure to clean the heat exchanger coils of the outdoor unit regularly. Dirt collected in the coils may decrease the operational efficiency
or increase energy costs.

Cleaning Instructions
Refer to the "Air Filter - Cleaning/Maintenance" section on page 19
Refer to the "Cleaning the 3M Micro Protection Filter" section on
page 19.
Use a soft dry cloth. Do not use bleach or abrasives.
Use steam to clean the heat exchanger coils and the panel vents. If
needed, consult with a technician on proper outdoor unit care.
