Introduction ® The Epson 34OMB SCSI hard disk drive is a high capacity, high performance, random access storage device designed to be installed in your EISA Series (desktop or tower) computer. This manual provides information you need to know to install the SCSI hard disk drive in your computer, and lists the technical specifications for the drive.

Before installing the SCSI hard disk drive, need to check the jumper settings on the drive. The jumpers determine the following settings: H SCSI ID of the drive (J6) Parity checking (J6) Drive power-up (J6) SCSI bus signals (J7) Terminator power (J8).

Pins 7-8 on jumper J6 control odd checking by the drive as parity table below. shown in the Pins 7-8 X = Jumper installed 0 = No jumper * = Factory setting Set J6 to enabled if the devices connected to the adapter card SCSI support parity checking.
SCSI devices in between must not be terminated. If you install the SCSI hard disk drive in the middle of the SCSI interface, you must remove all three terminator resistors on the drive. When replacing the resistors, make sure pin 1 is aligned correctly.
